Hawkbat Battalion, a unit within the Grand Army of the Republic, was designated as a battalion. It operated under the command of Clone Major Twelve and was one of the four battalions that comprised the 101st Regiment. Its organizational structure placed it under the 101st Regiment, 7th Legion, 327th Star Corps, 2nd Sector Army, and Systems Army Alpha.

Hawkbat Battalion was among the initial clone trooper units deployed and participated in the First Battle of Geonosis in 22 BBY. The battalion was ordered to advance directly into the line of fire from a Separatist spider droid formation and suffered devastating losses. K Company's Captain, Deviss, demonstrated exceptional bravery by remaining in a shallow bomb crater to care for two severely wounded soldiers, risking his own life. After defending their location for a full three hours, the medical evacuation team finally arrived. Deviss was awarded a medal and given a new command in recognition of his soldiers' rescue.
A Hawkbat Battalion trooper action figure was offered for sale by Hasbro in 2007 as a part of their Thirteenth Anniversary Collection. The following year, other figures in the series, such as the ARC heavy gunner and clone SCUBA trooper, were released.
