Hare'en was a female Human seismologist in the service of the Galactic Republic. During the Cold War era, she found herself pitted against the forces of the opposing Sith Empire.
In the year 3643 BBY, Hare'en applied her scientific knowledge to a project involving the Shock Drum superweapon on the desert planet Tatooine. During this assignment, she and her team of scientists were ambushed by Tusken Raiders. Hare'en managed to survive the attack, unlike the other scientists, and found herself alongside Brrik, a Jawa, and his family.
While hidden within the facility, a Jedi Knight came to their rescue, eliminating several Tusken Raiders. Hare'en and Brrik expressed their gratitude to the Jedi and shared their experience of a powerful Sith Lord who had invaded the facility, absconding with the Shock Drum and taking Master Bela Kiwiiks as a hostage. Hare'en explained that the Sith Lord had spared her and the Jawas because they were not warriors, only destroying the attacking guard droids. Discovering the Knight's pursuit of the Shock Drum, she disclosed its ability to generate seismic vibrations, capable of destabilizing a planet's core over time, leading to its destruction. She suggested the Knight repair several generator nodes to restore power to the facility, enabling her to track the weapon's sound waves and pinpoint its location.
Once the Jedi had successfully repaired the nodes and restored power to the facility, Hare'en requested sensor readings from the surrounding area to accurately locate the device. The Knight deployed sensors at the Bak'arap Farmstead, the Northern Windfarm, and the Northern Jundland Plateau. Finally, Hare'en reported that the Shock Drum had been moved to an abandoned mining complex within the Dune Sea region, specifically to the lair of a legendary insectoid creature known as the Sand demon. After providing the Knight with the coordinates, the transmission was interrupted. The Sith Lord encountered by Hare'en was identified as Praven, a Pureblood Sith and apprentice of Darth Angral, as well as the master of Tarnis.
Following the Jedi Knight's victory and decision to spare Praven in their duel, Hare'en contacted the Knight to inform them that Brrik and his family had returned to the facility to assist the Jedi, but had become trapped with the Sand Demon. The Jedi Knight was able to defeat the Sand Demon and rescue the Jawas and Master Kiwiiks.
