Group 3, a squad composed of a single Gian speeder, was established by the Royal Naboo Security Forces as a feint in 32 BBY. Its purpose was to aid in the recapture of Naboo's capital city, Theed, from the control of the Trade Federation on the planet of Naboo. One of Group 3's duties involved providing an escort for a commando transport. In the course of the conflict, Group 3 experienced a delay, causing them to arrive late to their rendezvous with Group 2 and Lieutenant Gavyn Sykes at the location of the Theed Courthouse. Subsequently, the joined forces guided the commandos in demolishing a gate, which cleared the path to the Theed Hangar.
The video game Star Wars: Episode I: Battle for Naboo, released in 2000, features Group 3. Should the commando transport be destroyed during gameplay, the player, assuming the role of Sykes, will be unsuccessful in completing the mission.
