A starfighter model, colored in shades of silver and blue, served the planetary defense force stationed on the moon of Gall. These craft featured a minimum of one cockpit for a pilot, dual wings, and blaster cannons. During the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Gall was the site of a battle where the local defense forces aligned themselves with the Republic. These starfighters played a role in the defense of the moon against an attacking force of the Separatist Droid Army, which utilized Variable Geometry Self-Propelled Battle Droid, Mark Is, a type of droid starfighter used by the Separatists.
The blasters on these fighters proved ineffective against the shields generated by the Separatists' lead craft, which also provided protection for a number of C-9979 landing craft. A sergeant within the defense force brought this issue to the attention of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan Ahsoka Tano. Subsequently, they succeeded in deactivating the shields, thus enabling the defense forces to achieve victory against the Separatists.
These starfighters made their debut, albeit without being named, in Inside Job, a comic authored by Rik Hoskin and with illustrations by Andres Ponce. This story was featured in issue 6.1 of the Star Wars Comic UK magazine series, released on November 12, 2009.
