Ferroan spinach


Ferroan spinach was a variety of spinach named after the sentient Ferroan species. Dex's Diner, a restaurant located on the planet of Coruscant, offered Ferroan spinach as an optional topping for their Gartro egg omelet for an extra five decicreds until the diner's destruction, which occurred sometime between 19 BBY and 18 BBY. In 44 ABY, Leia Organa Solo, Han Solo, Jagged Fel, Jaina Solo, and Tahiri Veila of the Human species consumed steamed Ferroan spinach as part of a meal at the Solos' safe house on Coruscant.

Behind the scenes

The first mention of Ferroan spinach occurred in "Dining at Dex's," a 2009 article exclusive to Hyperspace, the official Star Wars fan club. This article, presented as an in-universe menu, was authored by Gregory Walker. Subsequently, the spinach was featured in Ascension, a novel by Christie Golden released in 2011 as the ninth book in the Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi series.
