An unmanned vehicle that could be controlled remotely by a pilot was called a drone. An experimental drone variant, known as Bot-drones, was created for the Galactic Empire; however, the project was canceled because the technology was not reliable. Some drones, like those found on Moraysian cruisers, were automated by droids. To train their TIE fighter pilots, the First Order utilized Microraptor-class target drones modeled after X-wings.
