Diles Anevi functioned as the human administrator for the Expansion Region while the Galactic Empire was in power, specifically during its imperial era. He engaged in a meeting with Dryden Vos, the leading figure of the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate, in 10 BBY. This meeting took place on Vos's personal luxury vessel, known as the First Light.
The purpose of their discussion was to negotiate the removal of specific limitations on Crimson Dawn spaceships as they navigated the Great Gran Run hyperspace lane. In exchange for this favor, Anevi's hope was to convince Vos to offer monetary support to various philanthropic organizations. However, Vos's temper flared during their conversation, leading him to fatally stab Anevi utilizing a Kyuzo petar, which resulted in his demise.

Diles Anevi, a human, held the position of governor overseeing the Expansion Region during the Imperial reign of the Galactic Empire. He convened with Dryden Vos, the head of the Crimson Dawn criminal enterprise, in 10 BBY. This meeting unfolded aboard the crime boss's private ship, the First Light, while it was stationed at Fort Ypso located on the world of Vandor. The meeting's objective was to establish an agreement to lift certain travel barriers for Crimson Dawn vessels traversing the Great Gran Run hyperspace route. Anevi's aspiration was that this would lead to Vos providing financial aid to charitable causes that were close to his heart.
The meeting took a turn when Vos lost his composure and impaled Anevi with a Kyuzo petar, resulting in a scream of agony that was overheard by party attendees on the yacht's viewing platform. Upon Vos withdrawing the weapon, the governor collapsed to the floor, deceased. One of the crime overlord's Hylobon Enforcers then removed his body as Vos cleaned the weapon and enjoyed a beverage.
The governor possessed a fair complexion, shadowy irises, and grayish-brown head hair.
At the moment he died, Diles Anevi was adorned in a gray gaberwool official cloak over a dark-colored shirt and trousers, accompanied by dark-colored footwear and a waist clasp containing his transactional digital currency portfolio.

Diles Anevi's initial appearance was in the 2018 Star Wars Story motion picture, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and his identity was first confirmed in the related reference book Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide, authored by Pablo Hidalgo. While the film's credits list Miles Richardson as the actor portraying the "Regional Governor," and the Official Guide also includes a photo of Richardson in the role, the governor depicted in the film is visibly a different actor sporting a beard.
During the production of Solo, the creative team debated the exact method Dryden Vos would use to eliminate Anevi. Jon Kasdan, one of the screenwriters, along with others, proposed that Vos should decapitate Anevi. A version showing Anevi's severed head rolling across the floor was actually filmed. However, concerns arose that this might be excessively graphic for a Star Wars film, leading to the removal of the decapitation scene.
