Dendro

Dendro was a Human male Jedi Padawan who was under the tutelage of Jedi Master Hylon during the closing years of the Galactic Republic. In the year 19 BBY, Dendro and his Master successfully evaded the initial stages of the Great Jedi Purge, an event ordered by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Some months after Palpatine proclaimed himself to be the Emperor of the Galactic Empire, Dendro and Hylon allied themselves with the Ovoni, who were natives of the planet Otavon XII. Following the defeat of an Ovoni strike team during an attack on Tremor Base—an Imperial facility that was constructing All Terrain Armored Transports—the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader hunted down Dendro and a small group of Ovoni within the forest. The Jedi engaged the Sith Lord in a lightsaber duel, but ultimately Vader prevailed, leading to Dendro's death.

Biography

Dendro fights against Darth Vader.

During the Clone Wars, Dendro, a Human male, was a member of the Jedi Order. During this time, he became the Padawan of Jedi Master Hylon, who was also an Ovoni. In the year 19 BBY, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine issued Order 66, which compelled all clone troopers to kill all Jedi Knights. Soon after this, Palpatine declared himself to be the Emperor of the newly formed Galactic Empire.

Dendro and Hylon managed to survive the opening phases of the Great Jedi Purge, and they subsequently joined forces with the Ovoni natives on the planet Otavon XII. A few months following the issuing of Order 66, the Ovoni launched an assault on the local Imperial installation known as Tremor Base, which was involved in the construction of All Terrain Armored Transports. The Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader and the Imperial forces under his command defeated the assault team. Dendro, along with five Ovoni, escaped through the forest with the intention of reaching a river and then making their way back to Mount Dijandi, where Hylon was awaiting them.

However, Vader was able to locate Dendro and the small group of Ovoni. The Dark Lord eliminated the natives and then engaged Dendro in a lightsaber duel. During the duel, Vader inflicted an injury on Dendro by slashing the Jedi's left leg. Vader attempted to discover Dendro's identity, but the Jedi refused to reveal his name to the Sith. After Dendro threw a lantern at Vader, the Dark Lord used the Force to push the Padawan backwards. Vader then grabbed Dendro by his neck and removed his hood, recognizing that Dendro was a Padawan because of his distinctive braid. When Dendro was questioned about the location of his Master, he responded that Hylon was on his way to a starship, and that Vader would never be able to find the Jedi Master once he had escaped the planet. The Padawan was then thrown to the ground and killed by Vader, who used both his own and Dendro's lightsaber to murder the Jedi. Shortly after Dendro's death, the Dark Lord located Hylon on Mount Dijandi, where he defeated and killed the Jedi Master.

Personality and traits

Hylon, Dendro's Jedi Master

Following the start of the Great Jedi Purge, Dendro demonstrated a willingness to assist the Ovoni people against the forces of the Galactic Empire on Otavon XII. When Darth Vader confronted Dendro in the forests of Otavon XII, the Jedi refused to disclose either his identity or the location of his Jedi Master, Hylon. Before killing Dendro, Vader commented that the Jedi possessed a strong will. Dendro was wearing a set of brown Jedi robes and used a lightsaber that contained a blue crystal.

Powers and abilities

When the Great Jedi Purge began, Dendro, along with his Master Hylon, was able to evade the Imperial forces. He utilized a lightsaber in combat; however, he was ultimately unable to defeat Darth Vader when he engaged the Sith Lord in a duel.
