Contract AA23 represented a bounty offering, which was issued for the apprehension of the heroes of Cularin.
According to the contract's stipulations, the heroes needed to be taken alive; killing them would result in a 10% decrease in the reward. Furthermore, the bounty was designed to grow larger as time went on. The contract also specified that anyone pursuing the bounty needed a minimum of three years of experience and could not be actively pursuing other bounties simultaneously.
Initially, the Hutts posted the bounty at the request of Hohn Ryntz, acting on behalf of Velin Wir, who served as the Metatheran Cartel's representative to the Cularin system. More than a decade afterward, the bounty's worth had escalated to 500,000 credits, and when the heroes journeyed to the moon Nar Shaddaa, they faced an assault from a team of bounty hunters seeking to claim the reward. Ryntz, feeling remorseful for his oversight in not terminating the contract following Wir's death, engaged with the heroes and endeavored to persuade the Hutts to void the bounty. Ultimately, the Hutts consented to put the contract on hold, but they did not fully rescind it.
