Specialist Cha Raas functioned as an operative within the Imperial Security Bureau. He gained notoriety as one of the most unpleasant Imperial officers operating within the Minos Cluster.
Serving under Babel Torsch, an agent of Imperial Customs, Cha Raas acted as his subordinate and trainee. Torsch's area of operation was the Minos Cluster. Raas was dispatched by the Galactic Empire to the planet of Adarlon to look into the increasing holovid activity that was occurring there. His investigation led him to the Glow Dome nightclub. Rather than handing over Doctor Lytos Urtell's prototype personal holoprojector to the Empire, he became fixated on acquiring it for his own personal use.
Raas possessed an unsociable, discourteous, and conceited nature. He harbored animosity towards virtually everyone, regardless of their allegiance to the Rebel Alliance or the Empire. He held his superior, Torsch, in utter contempt. Although Raas could feign a charming and amiable demeanor during his undercover work, it was invariably insincere. A master of disguise, his true appearance remained elusive. Possessing an average height and build, and projecting an image of being in his early thirties, he seamlessly integrated into any crowd.
Raas was a capable undercover investigator. He possessed the necessary skills and training to reach his objective, infiltrate using disguise or charm, uncover evidence, and then escape undetected. In the event of detection, he was proficient in the use of blasters.
Raas typically carried a blaster pistol, a comlink, and a datapad. While he usually wore his ISB uniform, he also possessed disguises and plainclothes for his covert operations.
Paul Danner and Bill Smith created Cha Raas for Wretched Hives of Scum & Villainy, a supplement for the Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game published by West End Games in 1997. Tom O'Neill provided the character's illustration.
