Following the Battle of Yavin in the year 0 ABY, the Galactic Empire established a military installation called Camp Kaxol on the planet of Krant. During the Battle of Krant, the camp's forces posed a significant threat to the Krantian cities known as Peche and Theenes as the Imperials clashed with Rebel forces.
Located on Krant between 0.5 and 2 years after the Battle of Yavin, Camp Kaxol served as a military base for the Imperial forces. Its position was to the northeast of the city of Theenes. Defenses for Camp Kaxol included perimeter walls and a pair of laser turrets. Four power cores ensured that the base remained operational. Within the base were buildings such as a Command Center, three troop centers, a mech factory, eight prefab shelters, a War Center, and a spaceport. A contingent of ASP-7 labor droids were available to gather resources.
An incident occurred after Rebel Alliance emissary Leia Organa crash-landed on the planet. A squad of stormtroopers from Camp Sagol launched an attack on a small Krantian village, but Organa's escorts and the exiled Jedi Echuu Shen-Jon intervened and cut down the Imperial forces. Subsequently, Camp Kaxol, in conjunction with Sagol, initiated attacks on the Krantian cities Peche and Theenes, specifically targeting the bridges linking the cities. These attacks were carried out by a force of stormtroopers and dewback troopers sent by the two camps. Organa then assumed leadership of the small village and mustered an army with the aim of defeating Kaxol and Sagol, thereby dismantling their capacity for warfare.
The video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, released in 2001, marked the first appearance of Camp Kaxol. Players are tasked with destroying one of the two camps, which forces the other to retreat. The destruction of either camp allows the player to complete the level, and it has not been canonically established which camp was destroyed. This article maintains neutrality regarding this choice, as the decision is based on game mechanics. While only one camp needs to be destroyed to finish the mission, the game's strategy guide, published before the game's release, suggests that players prioritize Kaxol due to its proximity to the cities.
