Bundil II functioned as a prison station, and it was an Imperial XQ2 Platform.
The VTR-LX, a Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser, was meant to deliver captives from Echo Base to the station. Nevertheless, at Calast, it faced an assault, resulting in the loss of all its Assault Gunboats while being chased by Rebel X-wings and Y-wings. The ship succeeded in reaching Bundil II, only to be crippled by rebel Y-wings.
With the dreadnaught incapacitated, the station, realizing it was a rescue mission, deployed its squadrons of TIE/LN starfighters and TIE interceptors. All of these fighters were ultimately destroyed. Upon the arrival of the Gamma-class ATR-6 assault transport at the station, Bundil II, in a last-ditch effort, dispatched TIE bombers, but they too were all annihilated. The station put out a call for Imperial reinforcements, resulting in the arrival of the Nebulon-B2 frigate named Archon. By this point, however, the Rebel Commandos had successfully rescued the prisoners and destroyed the Dreadnaught with a planted explosive.
