Brophar Tofarain

Brophar Tofarain was an ordinary mechanic. During the pursuit of Moff Kentor Sarne, he became a member of the FarStar's crew.

Biography

Early life and Kal'Shebbol

Tofarain, having previously attained the rank of sergeant within a planetary defense force located in the Mid Rim, dedicated numerous years to traversing the galactic routes as a starship technician. Eventually, he arrived at Kal'Shebbol, where he established his own repair business. He amassed considerable wealth by providing services to independent traders and smugglers, and even completed some projects for Moff Sarne.

During the New Republic's liberation of Kal'Shebbol, Tofarain's business was destroyed by a stray concussion missile. However, Tofarain and his team survived, as they had sought refuge in a nearby drinking establishment.

Service onboard the FarStar

He boldly and assertively demanded a position on the FarStar as compensation for the destruction of his business. In his view, since the New Republic was unable to compensate him with credits, they were obligated to include him on the mission, considering he had no alternative destination. He volunteered his expertise as a mechanic, transport supervisor, and shuttle pilot. To further incentivize his inclusion, he offered his personal vessel, the Muvon, to the mission for logistical purposes.

Alongside the Wookiee Lofryyhn, Tofarain was responsible for the upkeep of the FarStar's starfighters and support craft, and he also provided technical assistance during ground-based operations.

Personality and traits

Tofarain embodied the classic mechanic archetype: somewhat overweight, brusque in manner, and perpetually covered in grease. Firmly believing himself to be the most skilled mechanic aboard the FarStar, he frequently insisted on personally undertaking major repairs, rather than assigning them to his subordinates. He lacked confidence in the abilities of others to perform the work correctly, and was often critical of their efforts.

He was also fond of offering unsolicited advice on all subjects, including the operational management of the FarStar mission. While the crew valued his technical insights, they disregarded his suggestions regarding command-level decisions.

Tofarain's primary ambition was to experience as much of the Galaxy as possible before his demise. Consequently, he insisted on piloting the Muvon, asserting that no one else possessed the necessary skills to operate his ship effectively. In reality, this was a pretext for him to explore new worlds, participate in exciting events, and potentially earn some additional income.

The Muvon held immense sentimental value for Tofarain, and he was deeply attached to the spacecraft. When Gorak Khzam, a Rodian, stole it, Tofarain vowed to exact revenge.
