Celebration V

The "marriage" of Burton and R2-D2 during Celebration V garnered significant attention and was showcased in a video on the Official Site. The ceremony, held at the Celebration Chapel, was officiated by Darth Maul, with Darth Vader serving as R2-D2's best man, model and Star Wars enthusiast Adrienne Curry as a bridesmaid, and Lucasfilm's Stephen J. Sansweet escorting Burton. Their marriage is considered "open-source," and Burton remarked that "Exchanging restraining bolts is much more romantic than exchanging rings." Burton also documented the history of her relationship with the astromech droid on The Official Star Wars Blog.
