The Black Sun bunker, utilized during the Galactic Civil War era, functioned as a base for the Black Sun criminal organization. This base was situated on Rori, which is a moon of Naboo.
Located within the Vaydean Marsh area of Rori, the bunker served as the lunar headquarters for the Black Sun, a particularly influential criminal syndicate operating throughout the galaxy. Following the Battle of Yavin, the Black Sun became aware of the Rebel Alliance's clandestine operations involving a novel form of spice. In 1 ABY, a sample of this spice came into the Black Sun's possession after Cal Handro, a smuggler, experienced a crash landing on Rori. Tover Blackmoor, a chemist, conducted an analysis of the spice within the bunker, determining that its composition was entirely unique compared to other spices available in the market.
Consequently, the Black Sun leadership resolved to acquire a larger quantity of this distinctive spice and initiated efforts to locate Cal Handro, the pilot who had disappeared following the crash of his vessel. Simultaneously, they orchestrated a scheme to ensnare a group of spacers who had stumbled upon the spice within Handro's wrecked ship while searching for him. Kaila Min, a woman, made contact with the spacers, feigning knowledge of having encountered the fugitive pilot within Rori's wilderness. The adventurers, believing her claims, promptly proceeded to the coordinates provided, only to be ambushed by the Black Sun. The spacers, however, successfully eliminated all attackers and discovered the coordinates of the Black Sun bunker on a datapad. Subsequently, the spacers launched an assault on the bunker, driven by the hope of finding the missing pilot, and inflicted significant casualties upon the Black Sun's forces during the attack. Ultimately, they located the chemist Tover Blackmoor and compelled him to divulge all information he possessed regarding the pilot and the novel spice.
The Black Sun bunker featured as a location within Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game from 2003, before the game's servers were shut down on December 15, 2011. The bunker was incorporated into the game as part of the second chapter of the "Secrets of the Syren" questline, introduced with "Publish 14.1," on March 24, 2005. The "Secrets of the Syren" storyline was later removed from the game with the "Chapter 1," update, released on June 8, 2006, due to significant changes planned for Rori with the introduction of the Battle of Restuss.
