Battle of the Corellian system

The Clash in the Corellian system occurred during the events of Operation Skyhook.

Context

To gain deeper insights into the Death Star, Alliance Special Forces executed a plan to sabotage and render inoperable a Delta-class DX-9 stormtrooper transport, designated Omicron 1. This transport was carrying Imperial officers assigned to the Death Star as it transited the Corellian system.

The Alliance dispatched the shuttle named Hunter, accompanied by the frigate Inad, with the objective of seizing the incapacitated transport. Protecting this operation were X-wings belonging to Blue Squadron and Y-wings from Red Squadron.

The Confrontation

The Hunter boards an Imperial transport.

Shortly after the mission's commencement, a number of Assault Gunboats appeared on the scene. Rebel fighters moved to engage them, losing three X-wings in the process. The Hunter successfully boarded the transport and took the officers into custody. As both vessels were en route back to the Inad, the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Immortal arrived and deployed three TIEs. Simultaneously, an Imperial transport emerged from hyperspace and attempted to reclaim the escaping transport. Keyan Farlander eliminated the attacking transport, along with two more that arrived soon after. However, both of his wingmen were shot down while trying to defend him from the Imperial fighters. Namrhe perished, but Omin-Oreh was rescued, albeit with severe injuries.

Consequences

Once both ships had boarded the Inad, the Rebels retreated into hyperspace. The captured military advisors could only reveal limited information, mainly that Bevel Lemelisk was heading the design team and that some members of his team had recently visited Coruscant for a meeting with Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin. The Alliance then formulated a plan to attack their ship.
