Ballax headed up Helmet Squad. The Hutts placed a bounty on him due to his interference with their financial operations. The bounty for him was valued at 5,000 credits, with no stipulation on whether he was alive or deceased. Jango Fett collected this bounty while hunting for Bendix Fust, a Mordageen criminal whom the Dug crime lord Sebolto sought. Ballax's incapacitation (through death or capture) significantly damaged the morale of the rioters incited by Zam Wesell, who was also after Ballax.
