During the early years of the Galactic Civil War, Ansible Beelyard, a Human male, rose to prominence as a celebrated hero within the ranks of the Rebel Alliance. This figure, known as the Holy Terror, served as the trusted second-in-command to the renowned Cody Sunn-Childe, engaging in fierce conflicts against the forces of the Galactic Empire, thereby acquiring considerable fame throughout the galaxy. However, around 3 BBY, Beelyard, Sunn-Childe, and their fellow resistance fighters vanished under mysterious circumstances. Following a religious experience that unlocked dormant psychic powers in Sunn-Childe after a battle, he established a dream utopia devoid of warfare, embracing a peaceful existence for a period, together with Beelyard and the rest of their group.
The whereabouts of Beelyard and Sunn-Childe remained unknown until 3 ABY, when Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca, both Rebels, inadvertently stumbled upon Sunn-Childe's pocket dimension due to a hyperdrive malfunction. The arrival of these individuals drew the attention of an Imperial detachment stationed nearby, who then initiated an assault on Sunn-Childe's City of Dreams. Rather than abandon their pacifist principles and retaliate, Beelyard and his comrades permitted the Imperials to obliterate Sunn-Childe's creation and kill them.
The initial appearance of Ansible Beelyard occurred in Star Wars (1977) 46, penned by John Marc DeMatteis and published in 1981. Carmine Infantino provided the illustrations of Beelyard within that particular issue.
