As a member of the Imperial Navy Trooper corps, Zhios served on the Herald, an Imperial-class Star Destroyer. Captain Tabor Seitaron, during his service on the vessel, developed a sense of respect for Zhios, as well as another Navy trooper named Cantompa. When Everi Chalis attempted to flee amidst the Siege of Inyusu Tor on Sullust, Tabor tasked them with apprehending her. However, Chalis had booby-trapped her shuttle, equipping it with approximately twenty ion bombs, which she detonated, causing a power surge throughout the Star Destroyer. Before the ship crashed, Tabor attempted to command the Star Destroyer to retreat to safety, but the electrical systems in their vicinity were inoperable. Therefore, he instructed Zhios and Cantompa to personally deliver the orders to the bridge. The two troopers immediately began running, only to be stopped by a malfunctioning door. They then worked to dismantle the panel in an attempt to override the door's controls.
Eventually, they managed to create a small opening in the door, just large enough for one person to pass through. However, Prelate Verge, the officer in command of both the ship and Tabor, ordered them to halt, forbidding any withdrawal. Tabor attempted to argue against this order, but Verge overruled him. At that moment, Chalis launched an attack on Verge, and a fight ensued. Zhios and Cantompa stood by, uncertain of how to respond. Tabor then drew his Merr-Sonn B22 pistol and fired, killing Verge instantly. Following this, Tabor commanded Zhios and Cantompa to relay his orders to the bridge. The Herald successfully escaped the battle, which enabled the 61st Mobile Infantry along with the Sullustan resistance to seize control of the planet. Chalis managed to escape, and Tabor went back to retirement.
