Yoda's crest

Yodascrest Yoda's crest. The Jedi Order's Grand Master, Yoda, utilized a crest as his unique, identifying symbol. This emblem was visible on the entrance to his quarters within the Jedi Temple located on Coruscant. Furthermore, it could be found on certain pieces of furniture inside his living space, etched into some external walls of the Jedi Temple, and emblazoned on a section of his personal starfighter.

Production Notes

The design of Yoda's crest originated with conceptual artist Philip Metschan for the film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. In the novel The Courtship of Princess Leia from 1994, Luke Skywalker received a stone container decorated with "the two glyphs that spelled Yoda's name." The symbol created by Metschan also incorporated a pair of glyphs at the crest's center.
