A species possessing sentience featured horns, toothed mandibles, and dark, lustrous eyes. In the year 0 BBY, a group of six individuals belonging to this species and affiliated with the Norclu Order sought to embark on a spiritual journey, a pilgrimage, from the planet Tatooine to the world known as Norclune. These individuals tried to secure passage with the smuggler Han Solo, but he declined the aliens' proposition.
This sentient species displayed reddish brown skin and an erect posture, complemented by two arms ending in three-fingered hands. The species members were characterized by a pair of large, glossy, dark red eyes and, located on the lower portion of their face, a set of mandibles equipped with opposing rows of teeth. Furthermore, these aliens possessed a pair of downward-pointing protrusions on each side of their head, as well as four smaller ridges on their forehead. The top of their heads was adorned with two partially curved, gray horns.
Members of this species' society identified with at least one gender - male.

In the year 0 BBY, six members of the species, including Brother Xando, who was fluent in Galactic Basic Standard, belonged to the Norclu Order and were present in the Mos Eisley settlement situated on the planet Tatooine within the Arkanis sector of the Outer Rim Territories'. Driven by the desire to make a pilgrimage to the Colonies planet Norclune, Xando and his fellow order members attempted within Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina to negotiate transport aboard the starship belonging to the Human smuggler Han Solo. However, the smuggler denied the aliens' request, both because they could not afford the fare and because he did not share the beliefs of the order.
The species to which Xando belonged made its debut in "Smuggler's Blues," a comic story penned by the Fillbach Brothers and featured in the fourteenth edition of the Star Wars Tales comic series published by Dark Horse Comics on December 11, 2002. The narratives presented in issues first through twentieth issue of Star Wars Tales were considered S-canon unless a non-Tales source made reference to them, at which point the subject matter's canon status was elevated to C-canon.
