World Razer

World Razer The World Razer

By the time of the Cold War, a being known as the World Razer was confined within the prison world's core, Belsavis. It was rumored that this creature consumed entire planets, with ancient texts referring to it as both the "destroyer of worlds" and the "eater of stars".

Very little information existed regarding this ancient entity, as no one had encountered or communicated with it for a millennium. According to the Rakata's mysterious warnings, the World Razer was the oldest prisoner on Belsavis, and its prison was specifically constructed to contain it. This was due to the fact that this terrifying force possessed an insatiable hunger that had devoured countless worlds. Rakatan inscriptions in the Tomb detailed how it guided the Esh-kha in conquering nearly half of the galaxy. The combined strength of the Infinite Empire ultimately subdued the World Razer's fury, leading to its imprisonment on a planet that later became the Belsavis facility. The sheer intensity of this being's rage suggested that its release could potentially shatter the galaxy.

During the Galactic War, the Sith Empire inadvertently freed the Esh-kha during their attack on Belsavis. After escaping their confinement, the Esh-kha plotted to release the World Razer. A Republic strike team, tasked with thwarting their plans, learned from Failsafe, an imprisoned Rakata intelligence, about a failsafe mechanism above the World Razer's prison known as the Burning Way. This mechanism would unleash molten liquid onto its cell, effectively resealing it. Following the strike team's elimination of the Esh-kha leader, Gore Claw, the World Razer attempted to negotiate its freedom, asserting that it would eventually escape regardless and offering power in exchange for release. The strike team rejected the offer and activated the Burning Way, thus re-imprisoning the World Razer.

Behind the scenes

This entity appears in "Star Wars: The Old Republic" on the planet Belsavis. Players are presented with a choice: either assist in awakening The World Razer or ensure its continued slumber.

If players choose to release the World Razer, it promises a reward, stating that "a small cluster of my worshipers remains on the ice world of Ilum. There you will find the Builders' technology".

Upon reaching the vault labeled "The Builders Vault" on Ilum, a cutscene depicts the character entering a room filled with crates. The character approaches and interacts with a terminal, which then offers a choice between two gloves or a lockbox. These rewards are generally considered minimal upgrades compared to the equipment players likely already possess.
