The Wookiee Trade Guild functioned as a sizable corporation, managed by Wookiees, that exerted control over commerce within the Kashyyyk system. Its base of operations was situated in the Wawaatt Archipelago on Kashyyyk. Mirroring other prominent trade organizations of that era, the Guild maintained a private army for the purpose of safeguarding and upholding their interests.
The Wookiee Trade Guild's existence came to an end in 28 BBY. Their refusal to comply with a Trade Federation tax led to swift retaliation from the Federation, resulting in the destruction of both their headquarters and the majority of their military force.

Wookiees established the Wookiee Trade Guild on their home planet, Kashyyyk, to govern trading activities on the planet and throughout the Kashyyyk system. In 28 BBY, the Trade Federation levied taxes on the Wookiee Trade Guild, which the Guild resisted, provoking the Federation. An army of 200 battle droids—comprising B1-series battle droids, droidekas, Vulture droids, and the recently created B2 super battle droids—was dispatched to Kashyyyk under the command of Count Dooku. The Wookiee Trade Guild countered by deploying their own army, consisting of 200 assembled Wookiees, to confront the droid forces. Consequently, a battle erupted between the Guild's army and the Federation's droid contingent. Ultimately, the Guild's army was compelled to surrender after the Trade Federation razed their headquarters to the ground.
The Wookiee Trade Guild's operations were centered on Kashyyyk, the homeworld of the Wookiee [species](/article/species-legends], and its surrounding areas. They exercised control over the trade activities taking place in the vicinity of Kashyyyk. Their main base was in a Trade Settlement located near the Wawaatt Archipelago, a collection of islands found on the forested planet.
The Wookiee Trade Guild made its sole appearance in the 2004 video game Star Wars: Battlefront. They were featured in the Clone Wars campaign's third level, entitled "Aggressive Negotiations". The battle that led to their downfall is depicted from the perspective of the Trade Federation's forces, marking the B2 super battle droid's first appearance in the game.
