Wolf Squadron functioned as a unit of the Rebel Alliance navy during the time of the Galactic Civil War.
Captain Mase commanded this squadron, which carried out raids targeting Imperial vessels sailing along the Corellian Trade Spine. After these raids, they would withdraw to a concealed base situated within an asteroid field, bringing any stolen goods with them. During the year 3 ABY, they seized a cargo ship transporting a component of the Death Star II's weapon systems, subsequently delivering it to Annamar, which served as their operational headquarters.
This particular operation ultimately led to the squadron's downfall. Emperor Palpatine instructed Darth Vader to recover the stolen device, resulting in Vader's complete destruction of Wolf Squadron and the deaths of all its pilots.
The squadron's assets included at least nine T-65 X-wing starfighters, a quartet of BTL Y-wing starfighters, a single EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate, as well as automated cannons concealed across various asteroids.
