Vo'ren Faalo

Vo'ren Faalo was a male Jedi Master who served both the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic. Before the rise of the Galactic Empire, he held the position of Battlemaster at the Jedi Temple.

Biography

As a male who was Force-sensitive, Vo'ren Faalo received instruction from the Jedi Order in the ways of the Force, eventually achieving the rank of Jedi Master. The Jedi High Council appointed him as the battlemaster for the Jedi Temple located on Coruscant, and he was considered one of the most skilled instructors of his era. Faalo authored the Book of Practical Lightsaber Technique during his tenure as battlemaster. Within this book, he meticulously described a number of training cadences, where a Jedi would try to use their lightsabers to manipulate tiny steel bearings that were sitting on top of candles. He also gave details of a telekinetic lightsaber technique, which was later named "Faalo's Will" in his honor.

Legacy

Even after Faalo's physical death, his teachings persisted within the Jedi Order for hundreds of years. Despite the Great Jedi Purge that occurred in 19 BBY, survivors such as an Unidentified Jedi and Adalric Cessius Brandl remembered Faalo's teachings and passed the cadences down to Fable Astin, his student. Furthermore, it was rumored that Darth Vader's ASP-19 training droids were programmed with the lightsaber training techniques that Faalo himself used. These techniques were supposedly extracted from a Jedi holocron.
