Vendrak V was a celestial body that held the position of the fifth orbit in the Vendrak system. This system existed within the Videnda sector, which itself was part of the Outer Rim Territories. A spaceport was located on Vendrak V, which included at least one sizable hangar.
During the time of the Galactic Civil War, a conflict between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance, Rebel forces had a presence on Vendrak V. Imperial Intelligence set a trap for the Rebels by disseminating misleading information, leading the Alliance to think that a local starport hangar contained a shipment of potentially valuable weapons.
Acting on this intelligence, the Rebel units known as "Victor" squad and "Bravo" Squad infiltrated the hangar. There, the Imperial trap was activated. Two squads of Imperial stormtroopers appeared, surprising the Rebels, and a battle ensued as the stormtroopers tried to stop the Rebels from escaping.
The scenario "Like Rats in a Trap," which was included in the Star Wars Miniatures Battles rulebook and intended for use with the game, introduced Vendrak V. Stephen Crane and Paul Murphy were the authors of the 1991 book. The reference book The Essential Atlas, published in 2009, placed the Vendrak system, and consequently Vendrak V, in grid square M-18.
