Usan Ollin

Usan Ollin, a member of the Neimoidian species, was a functionary within the Trade Federation. During the invasion of Naboo by the Trade Federation, Ollin was assigned as the commanding officer of Camp Four. When her battle droids apprehended Saché, a Royal Handmaiden who was covertly moving around the camp, Ollin instructed the droids to escort her to the overseer's office. The intention was to subject Saché to torture in order to extract intelligence pertaining to the planned rebellion.

Biography

Usan Ollin, an employee of the Trade Federation, belonged to the Neimoidian race. After the successful invasion of the planet Naboo in 32 BBY by the Federation, Ollin was appointed as the overseer of Camp Four. This prison camp was established within one of the market squares of the city of Theed. The former market office in the square was repurposed into a compact office space for her use, and it also served as a charging station for the battle droids that guarded the camp. The detainees held at the camp consisted of personnel from the Royal House of Naboo, which included members of the Royal Naboo Security Forces and two of the Queen of Naboo's handmaidens: Yané and Saché.

Ollin grew suspicious that the adult prisoners were plotting against her after the discovery of a piece of fabric concealing a coded communication. The following day, Saché was brought before the overseer by a patrol of droids who had noticed the handmaiden's frequent movements between the camp's tents. Ollin, aware that Saché was delivering the messages but operating under the assumption that the twelve-year-old girl was merely being exploited by the adults, attempted to persuade Saché that the other prisoners were endangering her. She urged her to reveal the method for deciphering the coded messages or to identify the individuals who were providing them to her. Saché, who was actually fully informed about the messages' contents and had volunteered to deliver them, feigned surprise and claimed ignorance of how to decode them. The handmaiden cleverly induced the overseer to admit that the camp was facing an imminent food shortage. She also falsely asserted that she couldn't recall who had given her the messages, as the other prisoners in the camp were unfamiliar to her, including Yané. Ollin was deceived by the lie but remained convinced that Saché was concealing something. Consequently, she instructed the battle droids to escort Saché to an interrogation room that they had recently completed but not yet used.

After Ollin uploaded a series of questions for the droids to pose, they tortured the child using fire for a duration of three hours. The handmaiden divulged no information and was subsequently returned to her tent, as the Neimoidian was eventually convinced that Saché was genuinely as uninformed as she claimed to be. Shortly before the Battle of Naboo, during which the natives of Naboo initiated an uprising to repel the Trade Federation occupation, several prisoners managed to escape from Camp Four by utilizing the nearby sewer system. Two of these escapees—Captain Mariek Panaka and Sergeant Tonra—returned during the battle and launched an assault on the droid forces within the camp, prompting the remaining prisoners to also rebel against their captors. Amidst the chaos of the fighting, Ollin positioned herself in the doorway of her office, issuing frantic orders to her droids, who were too preoccupied to heed them. Panaka recognized this as an opportunity and charged across the market square, opting to forgo picking up a blaster and instead tackling the droid closest to Ollin before delivering a punch to the overseer's face. Ultimately, the Trade Federation forces suffered defeat, and their leadership was apprehended and handed over to the Galactic Republic.
