Unidentified Dulok cub 1

King Gorneesh and Queen Urgah, the reigning leaders of a Dulok tribe residing on Endor's Forest Moon, were parents to numerous offspring. Among these young Duloks was a toddler present in 3 ABY. In that year, the male child exhibited typical characteristics of the Dulok species, including green fur. On at least one occasion, he adorned himself with red shells from some creature, using them as shoulder pauldrons. When the collective antics of him and his siblings became overwhelming for their mother, Urgah insisted that Gorneesh secure a caretaker for the youngsters. The Dulok King devised a scheme that ultimately led to the Ewok Latara being brought to the Dulok Swamp as a slave, with the responsibility of looking after the three cubs. However, while the cubs were captivated by a performance from a group of traveling entertainers called the Travelling Jindas, Latara's companions orchestrated her rescue.

Biography

The Dulok Prince tested his mother's patience by biting her tail.

The Dulok King Gorneesh and his wife, Queen Urgah, had a male cub who liked to wear shells. This cub, a child of theirs, also had at least two siblings: one who had a pink wrap on their shoulder, and another with no clothes. The parents lived with their children in the Dulok Swamp, a region on Endor's Forest Moon controlled by Duloks of Gorneesh's tribe. The Prince came into the world sometime before 3 ABY, and by that year he was a young toddler.

During that year, the Dulok cub joined his siblings in bothering Urgah as she was trying to wash clothes in their home. While his siblings were pulling on her hair and nipping at her knee, the Prince grabbed his mother's tail and bit it. This made Urgah tell her husband that if he didn't find someone to watch the kids, he wouldn't get dinner. Gorneesh wasn't worried and sent two of his guards to Bright Tree Village, where the Ewoks lived, to find someone to care for the children. The scouts came back with an Ewok named Latara tied up. As Gorneesh explained that the Ewok would have to watch the Dulok cubs, the toddlers jumped into the hut and onto Latara, beginning a playful fight.

As the day ended, a group of performers called the Travelling Jindas arrived in the Dulok swamp and were allowed to perform. The three young Duloks brought their babysitter to the show, which made them sit still and watch. The Prince and his siblings laughed with everyone else as the audience threw fruit at the stage to try and disrupt the show. However, the Dulok toddlers were fascinated by the performance of Trebla, the Jinda magician; when their babysitter was called on stage to help the magician, the pups could only watch as Latara's friends—Paploo, Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka, Teebo, and Wicket W. Warrick—rescued her from slavery to Gorneesh and Urgah while disguised as Jindas.

Personality and traits

Only a performance of the Travelling Jindas could calm the Dulok child down.

The son of Gorneesh and Urgah was a troublemaker who didn't care about misbehaving; his actions were so bad that his parents thought watching him was like torture. One time, the Prince joined his siblings in tormenting his mother, Urgah, laughing as he pulled and bit her tail. Another time, the Dulok cub jumped on his Ewok babysitter, Latara, starting a fight in Gorneesh's house. However, the boy was captivated by the Travelling Jindas' show.

Being just a child in 3 ABY, the pup already had the physical traits of his species, such as green fur, brown eyebrows, a brown nose, and gray skin. He had white [eyes](/article/eye-legends]. As a toddler, he was only as tall as the knee of a typical 1.35-meter-tall Dulok. While Latara was watching him, the cub wore red shells as shoulder pauldrons, similar to what his father, Gorneesh, wore. He also had a yellow stripe from his bottom lip, across his chin, to his chest. At that time, the cub had two incisors in his upper mouth, but only one canine tooth in his lower jaw.

Behind the scenes

The son of Gorneesh and Urgah is one of three toddlers in The Travelling Jindas, an episode of the Ewoks cartoon series' first season, written by Bob Carrau and directed by Raymond Jafelice. The episode first aired on October 5, 1985, and was later included in the DVD movie Tales from the Endor Woods in 2004. In Ewoks 13, a comic book by Marvel Comics in May 1987, Gorneesh and Urgah have a son named Boogutt. However, because the Dulok in The Travelling Jindas isn't named, we can't say if he's Boogutt.
