An individual served as a high-ranking officer, specifically an admiral, within the Galactic Republic's naval branch during the tumultuous period known as the Clone Wars. This conflict pitted the Republic against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. This admiral commanded naval forces and oversaw operations within a specific region: the sector of the Outer Rim Territories that encompassed the planet Vallt. During the year 21 BBY, this admiral gave the green light to a proposed attack on Vallt, a plan presented by Lieutenant Commander Orson Callan Krennic. Vallt had previously fallen under the control of a Separatist-backed coup. The subsequent operation proved successful, restoring Vallt to Republic control and transforming it into a valuable staging ground for future military endeavors.

During the Clone Wars, a war fought throughout the galaxy between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Galactic Republic, one individual rose to the rank of admiral within the Republic's naval forces. This admiral was eventually placed in charge of all naval activity within the sector of the Outer Rim Territories, including the world of Vallt. In 21 BBY, Lieutenant Commander Orson Callan Krennic went outside of the normal chain of command and personally approached the admiral to request permission for an attack on Vallt. The planet had been seized months earlier in a Separatist-backed coup. Krennic's true motivation was to rescue his longtime friend Galen Walton Erso, a scientist he intended to use in a top-secret battle station program, as well as Galen's family.
The admiral, concerned that Galen might have shared information about Republic naval deployments in the Vallt sector with the Separatists, approved Krennic's plan, even though Galen was ignorant of the Republic Military's operations. The assault was also designed to allow pro-Republic legions on Vallt to regain control. Zerpen Industries, Erso's previous employer, also supported the attack to reclaim its fusion facility on Vallt. During the mission, Krennic misled the Ersos, claiming the Republic's highest authorities had sanctioned the attack. The operation was a resounding success, paving the way for Vallt to serve as a Republic staging ground. Subsequently, Vice Chancellor Mas Amedda, who had previously stated he did not wish to know the details of the plan, angrily demanded to know who had authorized the attack. Krennic, after initially giving a vague response about the Republic Military's decision, revealed the admiral's approval.
James Luceno mentioned the admiral in his 2016 novel, Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel.
