Unaw Aharo

Unaw Aharo was a male Bith who, as a Jedi Knight, served both the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic during the Galactic War against the reconstituted Sith Empire. While still a Jedi Padawan, Aharo discovered Callef, a Dark Jedi, was leading the Flesh Raiders, the native inhabitants of Tython, in attacks against the Order. He was rescued by another Jedi learner who would later become the apprentice of Master Orgus Din. Shortly after the conflict with the Flesh Raiders, Aharo successfully completed the Jedi Trials. When Grand Master Satele Shan and Master Jaric Kaedan dispatched Jedi to assist the Republic Military in the Battle of Corellia, Aharo was among those sent to that war-torn world.

Following his success in the Jedi Trials, Aharo was soon chosen by Satele Shan to serve under the command of Orgus Din's former apprentice, the Jedi Knight known as the Hero of Tython. He acted as the Hero's lieutenant during their mission to prevent the corrupted Jedi Master Tol Braga from carrying out a massacre of civilians under orders from the Sith Emperor. After the Hero departed Corellia to confront the Emperor directly, Aharo remained with the other Jedi to support the Republic in their eventual victory in the battle for control of the planet. As the Galactic War continued, Aharo eventually achieved the rank of Master.

Biography

Unaw Aharo, a Force-sensitive male of the Bith species, was inducted into the Jedi Order and underwent training in the ways of the Force during the Cold War era between the Republic and the Sith Empire. In 3643 BBY, while training on Tython, the Order's homeworld, Aharo encountered a group of armed Flesh Raiders – the planet's hostile native inhabitants – within the Tythonian Gnarls region. Contacting Jedi Knight Derrin Weller at the nearby Masters' Retreat, Aharo reported that the Flesh Raiders were emerging from a cave in the vicinity and were attacking the Jedi outpost in that area. However, after ending the holocall, Aharo was captured by the Flesh Raiders, who wounded the Bith and dragged him into the cave to face their Human leader.

Unaw Aharo as a Padawan

Callef, the Dark Jedi, derided Aharo and the Order for their perceived weakness and prepared to execute the injured apprentice. However, Aharo was rescued by the arrival of another initiate. This second apprentice, dispatched by Weller to seal off the cave, demanded that Callef release Aharo. The Dark Jedi responded by igniting his lightsaber and attacking the learner. Thrown aside, Aharo witnessed the apprentice fight back against Callef, ultimately defeating the Dark Jedi in a fierce duel. As the apprentice helped Aharo to his feet, Jedi Master Orgus Din arrived and, using the Force, collapsed the tunnel before escorting Aharo back to the Jedi Temple.

As the Cold War escalated into open conflict between the Republic and Sith Empire, Unaw eventually rose to the rank of Jedi Knight and was sent to Corellia. Upon his arrival, he sought refuge with a Corellian family, only to be betrayed by an Imperial spy. Imperials then attacked their safehouse, intending to kill everyone for sheltering a Jedi. Fortunately, Unaw's rescuer, now known as the Hero of Tython, arrived and eliminated the Imperials. Afterwards, the Bith reminded the Hero of who he was. The Hero then gave Unaw the rendezvous coordinates for all Jedi. There he joined the besieged Jedi leading the defense against the invading Sith Empire and served as part of a strike team to help defeat renegade Jedi Master Tol Braga, who had fallen under the influence of the Sith Emperor.

The initial deployment of the Jedi troops involved reclaiming a munitions factory located in Labor Valley. The Hero instructed their forces to secure all available munitions for the Republic's use while simultaneously thwarting the Sith's attempts to deploy chemical bombs. Subsequently, the Jedi advanced towards Axial Park. Prior to the Hero's arrival at a museum that had been converted into a command center, Unaw was attempting to mediate a dispute between Colonel Brint and Senator Jol Zackin. Upon the Hero's arrival, both parties explained their respective positions. Brint sought retribution against the Imperials for the slaughter of medical camps, with rewards offered for their efforts. Zackin insisted that their efforts should be focused on rescuing Corellian citizens who were being enslaved by the Empire. Brint countered that the "citizens" were being abducted from prison, thus classifying them as criminals. Zackin maintained that his "citizens" were innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The Hero deferred to Unaw for a recommendation on the best course of action. He stated that revenge is not the Jedi way and their efforts are best used helping people. Brint then attempted to offer equipment from Balmorra to augment the Jedi, which an outraged Zackin viewed as bribery. Ultimately, the Hero chose to deploy the Jedi forces to assist Zackin's cause. They were able to succeed in their mission with no casualties.

Unaw later participated in General Var Suthra's assault on the Imperial command center, an effort designed to distract them from the Hero's infiltration of Braga's cruiser. When the Hero succeeded in their mission and redeemed Braga to the light side, they contacted Var Suthra while he was in the midst of the assault. Unaw was engaged in combat during this time, managing to eliminate several Imperial troopers, even causing one to accidentally misfire his rocket launcher.

Eventually, Unaw was promoted to the rank of Jedi Master. He continued his service on Corellia, taking time for meditation and respite from battle as he witnessed the war's devastating impact on the population. During one of these breaks, he encountered Republic and Imperial forces secretly plotting to crash their ships into the flagships of their respective sides. Upon encountering him, they detonated themselves.
