Tract of Makem Te

The Makem Te Tract was a vast burial ground situated on Makem Te. This graveyard was regarded as the most well-known aspect of Makem Te. The historian Vicendi included it in his list of the Twenty Wonders of the Galaxy within his Arturum Galactinum publication from 10,000 BBY. Initially, the Tract, composed of polished stone foundations, was erroneously identified as an ice cap spanning 10% of the planet's area during the initial orbital scan. But in reality, it was a massive city of the dead.

Each Swokes Swokes that passed away on Makem Te received a plate that served as their eternal resting place. This practice had persisted for a thousand years, resulting in 1.2 trillion memorial tiles. The Tract was effectively a checkerboard pattern of polished stone tiles, each sustained by a pillar known as a stela.

Gaining access to the Tract was pricey, frequently costing as much as 500 credits. In addition to being expensive, it was also extremely perilous, as numerous petitioners undertaking pilgrimages across the Tract would perish from sunstroke, dehydration, or schinga assaults.
