"Thunder Road" is a narrative featured within the pages of Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures Volume 10. The story centers around the exploits of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker as they attempt to evade pursuing bounty hunters within the confines of Death Canyon.
Within the depths of Death Canyon, Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Master, observes with growing impatience as Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi Knight, is in the process of repairing an aged VXL speeder. A group of bounty hunters is in hot pursuit, and their only escape route from the canyon, a path, has been blockaded by the hunters. Skywalker accelerates the speeder out of the garage, and Kenobi, despite his reservations about his former Padawan's modifications, quickly boards, soon clinging on for dear life as the VXL launches forward. Regrettably, Skywalker reveals that slowing down is not an option, a fact that becomes problematic when a harpoon becomes embedded in the speeder. Instead of halting the vehicle, the harpoon gun itself is uprooted from the ground, compelling Kenobi to leap onto the speeder's roof and neutralize the pursuing bounty hunter. Subsequently, the two Jedi are confronted by rows of bounty hunters positioned on either side, some armed with rocket launchers and others with blasters. While Kenobi deflects incoming blaster fire, Skywalker seizes both lightsabers and connects them to the power core, granting the speeder a burst of sonic speed, enabling it to reach the safety of Republic headquarters, where Grand Master Yoda awaits. The seasoned Master comments on the speeder's appealing appearance, prompting Kenobi to groan as Skywalker retorts with "once a classic, always a classic".
