Plot summary

Obi-Wan Kenobi has been residing on the desolate planet of Tatooine for a year. His purpose there is to protect Luke Skywalker; both Luke and his sister, Leia, may represent the galaxy's last chance. One evening, after completing his daily observation of Luke, he visits a cantina, hoping to gather some valuable information. He only overhears the usual rumors and exaggerations, and is about to leave when he hears the name of Ferus Olin mentioned. Ferus is on the run from the Empire (Obi-Wan had presumed him dead), and Obi-Wan is eager to assist him, but he is tasked with staying and watching over Luke. Disturbed, he steps outside, where he encounters the spirit of Qui-Gon. Following a brief discussion, Obi-Wan becomes convinced that his former Master can protect Luke while he helps Ferus on the planet Bellassa. He secures a ride from Weasy, the pilot who provided the information, and begins his desperate quest to locate Ferus and reignite the Republic.

His investigation initially takes him to Belassa, Ferus's birthplace. He goes to Olin and Lands, where a local tailor named Mariana informs him that the company is closed and the owners are gone. Obi-Wan departs and encounters a boy in an alley named Trever Flume. Soon after, a squad of stormtroopers arrives, forcing Obi-Wan to jump onto the nearest gravsled and flee. Unfortunately, the gravsled belongs to the street kid he just met, and as he takes control of the vehicle, he learns the boy's name is Trever Flume. Eventually, his investigation leads him to the hospital where Roan Lands, Olin's business partner, is staying. He finally discovers Olin's whereabouts and finds him. Shortly after, two bounty hunters launch an attack on their hiding place. They are identified as Boba Fett and D'harhan.

Following this, Ferus, with Kenobi's assistance, makes an attempt to save the planet, and succeeds by surrendering himself.
