The Kallea Cycle

The Kallea Cycle: Vessa Brentioch performing as Freia Kallea, and Gelod Vothran performing as Sival Brentioch Maestro Trebian Shullos created a well-known Brentaalan opera titled The Kallea Cycle, which depicted the life of Freia Kallea and the establishment of the Hydian Way. On 38:2:13, the opera was first shown at Votrad Stadium on Brentaal. Following its successful debut, the production embarked on a tour that spanned the Core Worlds and the Colonies. As part of this tour, it premiered on Imperial Center in 3 ABY, presented within the Grand Convocation Chamber located inside the Senate Building. The Galactic elite, including Grand Admiral Miltin Takel and other prominent social figures, attended the opening night.

A media storm arose when it was revealed that Amaro Fonteen, a Human, was cast in the role of Banu Hydia, a character traditionally portrayed by a Duros double-bass vocalist. Both the Brentaal Council on High Human Culture and the Brentaal Hall Conservatory issued statements condemning the "limited perspective that a human [could not] voice a Duros role." Furthermore, the council and the conservatory refuted claims that certain arias within The Kallea Cycle were offensive in their representations of nonhumans and their beliefs, asserting that the Cycle represented one of the greatest accomplishments of Brentaal and Core culture. With support from the Arts Division of the COMPNOR Coalition for Progress, an addendum clarifying these viewpoints was included in the Cycle's program.
