Thaereian War

The Thaereian War, alternatively referred to as the Thaereian Conflict, represented an armed struggle that transpired within the Cularin system during the era of the Clone Wars as it is known in time. Around 32 BBY, the Thaereian military, a defense organization originating from the Thaereian system, received official authorization from the Galactic Republic to uphold order within the neighboring Cularin system, which was heavily affected by piracy. Eventually, the inhabitants of the Cularin system's grew unhappy with the Thaereian's stringent methods of maintaining security, resulting in the establishment of the anti-Thaereian Cularin Militia, a local resistance movement dedicated to expelling the Thaereians from Cularin. Approximately in 21 BBY, the Militia initiated Operation False Horizon, an initiative aimed at compelling the Thaereians to leave the planet Cularin, which forced Thaereian troops stationed on the world to retreat to the platform city of Soboll, which was then put under siege by Militia forces. The Soboll garrison later surrendered, leaving the Thaereian's base situated on the moon of Dorumaa as their only remaining military presence in the system.

The issue of Cularin's right to self-governance was raised within the Galactic Senate, the Republic's governing body, which subsequently decided to revoke the Thaereian's charter and remove the military's authority to operate within the Cularin system. The Thaereians defied this decision and blockaded the Cularin comet cloud, but they were ultimately defeated and permanently driven out by a joint force consisting of Republic and Militia elements during the Battle of Cularin.
