Team Nine, comprised of a dozen soldiers identified as stormtroopers, functioned as a response unit assigned to an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer. The Rebel astromech droid, R2-D2, caused disarray on the Star Destroyer while attempting to rescue C-3PO; this ultimately led to Team Nine and Team Twelve mistakenly engaging each other in combat.
Despite consisting of twelve Imperial stormtroopers, the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer's irate commander labeled the response team a squad. This is in disagreement with Star Wars Super Graphic: A Visual Guide to a Galaxy Far, Far Away, which states that a squad within the Stormtrooper Corps consists of 10 stormtroopers.
