Talie Heathe, a Human female scientist hailing from Alderaan and known for her slender build, specialized in the study of oceanics. She lived in the years leading up to the Clone Wars.
During 26 BBY, Talie Heathe, along with fellow researchers Fort Turan, Tic Verdun, Joveh D'a Alin, and Reug Yucon, embarked on an expedition to the planet Haariden. Their objectives were to investigate the geological and volcanic activity there, to comprehensively map the world for the mineral titanite, and to assess how the planet's environment impacted its ecosystem.
However, as they conducted their research, the scientists unexpectedly found themselves embroiled in a fierce civil war and soon became marooned due to a malfunction in their ship. Trapped in the countryside, they managed to send a distress signal to the Galactic Senate, which was sponsoring their mapping project, while simultaneously attempting to broker peace between the warring factions on the planet. Concerned that the scientists might be taken hostage or used as leverage in the ongoing conflict, the Senate requested assistance from the Jedi.
Ultimately, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Soara Antana, and Darra Thel-Tanis, dispatched by the Jedi High Council on a rescue mission to the crisis-stricken planet, located the scientists. From a deserted stronghold in the war-torn region of Tenuuri, the Jedi shielded the scientists—guiding them securely through treacherous, war-ravaged landscapes—until they were all able to successfully escape the planet.
