The Tagge battlecruiser represents a line of warships manufactured by the Tagge Company and deployed throughout the Galactic Civil War.
Similar to the Star Destroyers and Super Star Destroyers of the era, the battlecruiser's design resembled a dagger. These were large vessels, surpassing the majority of standard Star Destroyers utilized by the Galactic Empire.
The House of Tagge committed these warships to bolster Imperial warships during the [Yavin blockade]. They were under the leadership of General Ulric Tagge. Officially, they were deployed to suppress mining strikes within the Gordian Reach. Orman Tagge, the family's leader, exploited his brother's authority to execute clandestine operations during the blockade, without the Empire's awareness, intending to undermine his competitor, Darth Vader.
During the Omega Frost incident, Tagge's personal battlecruiser was attacked by a squadron of Rebel gunships. The Millennium Falcon executed a pinpoint strike, breaching a shield and striking a backup reactor, which compelled the General and his crew to evacuate in an escape pod.
