The T-6 "Thunderer", a heavy blaster pistol, was the brainchild of BlasTech Industries. Its creation was a direct response to the Renegade heavy blaster pistol developed by the SoroSuub Corporation. BlasTech designed the "Thunderer" with the explicit goal of outperforming its competitor in raw power, enabling them to assert their dominance as "king of the blaster wars".

The T-6 "Thunderer" was notably large and weighty, just barely staying within the size parameters for a pistol. Its damage output was significant, delivering a potent shot with minimal recoil. However, the barrel's durability was questionable; it was prone to warping if insufficient cooling time was allowed between shots. Should this occur during combat, the prismatic crystals responsible for focusing the weapon could become misaligned, leading to a catastrophic explosion. The T-6 held twenty-five shots and had an effective range extending to fifty meters. The base price was seven hundred and fifty credits, with an additional twenty-five credits for a power pack.
The T-6 heavy blaster pistol was initially manufactured to challenge the SoroSuub Corporation's Renegade heavy blaster pistol, aiming to exceed its rival in terms of pure destructive capability. This power advantage played a key role in BlasTech's victory in the "blaster wars" against SoroSuub and Merr-Sonn Munitions, Inc., cementing their position as "king of the blaster wars". Marketed as the ultimate superheavy blaster, the T-6 earned the nickname "Thunderer" among soldiers.
