Sylar Saris

Sylar Saris, infamous as "The Slayer of Ordo Eris," was an insectoid criminal operating during the Imperial Era, specifically around 18 BBY. After eliminating several high-ranking leaders on behalf of the Haxion Brood criminal organization, Saris became a prime target for powerful figures throughout the galaxy, leading him to seek refuge on Veelo. Consequently, bounty hunter Fennec Shand commenced her pursuit of the bounty placed on him, eventually enlisting the help of rogue clones Hunter and Wrecker to locate and apprehend him.

Biography

An Elusive Target

After assassinating a couple of bosses from the criminal syndicate known as the Haxion Brood, the insectoid Sylar Saris double-crossed the group. He absconded with a stash of credits and sought shelter on the planet Veelo, a world he knew well. A substantial bounty was offered for Saris's capture. He gained the moniker "The Slayer of Ordo Eris" following his betrayal of the syndicate. He proved to be a difficult target, strategically deploying mines in the water surrounding his hideout. Numerous bounty hunters attempted to capture Saris but failed, never returning from their hunts. The insectoid even evaded capture during an encounter with the skilled bounty hunter Fennec Shand.

In the vicinity of 18 BBY, Shand possessed a bounty puck identifying Saris and obtained intelligence regarding his whereabouts. Having previously failed to apprehend him, Shand believed that capturing the insectoid single-handedly would be very difficult. When the renegade clone troopers Hunter and Wrecker approached her at Tanda's Cantina on Suria space station seeking information, she proposed a bargain: the two would assist her in capturing Saris in exchange for the information they desired. Subsequently, the trio journeyed to Veelo, where Hunter tracked their quarry, eventually encountering the mines the insectoid had deployed. Unexpectedly, they disabled the mines rather than circumventing them, a tactic that deviated from Saris's expectations.

Ambush at the Hideout

Sylar Saris fought Hunter, Wrecker, and Shand on Veelo.

Upon reaching Saris' hideout, Shand, Hunter, and Wrecker beached their hydroskiff and separated. Shand remained on lookout at the boat, while the two clones independently searched the base. Saris ambushed the hunters, concealing himself on the ceiling of one of the hideout's chambers. He waited until Hunter entered and began inspecting a wooden grate situated beneath him. Emitting chittering and clacking sounds with his mandibles, Saris pounced onto Hunter's back, causing the clone to instinctively discharge stun rounds from his blaster into the air. Saris then bit Hunter's hand, causing him to drop his weapon, before the clone managed to throw his attacker off.

Saris snarled as he landed and rolled away. Hunter charged at the insectoid, and the two exchanged blows until Saris scurried around Hunter's legs and kicked the clone in the back, stunning him and knocking him to the floor. Chittering, Saris climbed atop the clone, but was knocked across the room by a charging Wrecker, who had seen Hunter's blaster shots. Evading Wrecker's grasp, Saris screeched and slipped into the shadows then leapt from behind Wrecker and knocked the clone into a wall. With both clones incapacitated on the ground, Saris opened the wooden grate on the room's floor and leapt down into a crude tunnel below.

Saris's Fortune Ends

Wrecker used his comms to report Saris's underground escape to Shand. This prompted her to abandon the group's boat, inadvertently allowing their target to stealthily approach from a nearby location onto the dock. Boarding his own boat, Saris attempted to ignite its thruster, but after it sputtered and failed, he discovered that two of the wires had been severed. Aiming a blaster pistol at her target from behind, Shand taunted Saris, who turned and recognized her, causing him to laugh. Shand then struck Saris with a stun blast, causing him to flinch, but not stopping him from leaping at her. The bounty hunter missed several shots while Saris was in the air, allowing him to land on her and knock the weapon from her hand before punching her into the water.

Leaping onto a nearby rock face, Saris scanned the beach around him and spotted the hunters' vessel, jumping down and running toward it before Wrecker jumped from the shadows and tackled him. Spitting acid onto the clone's helmet and impairing his view, the insectoid pushed off his attacker and drew a vibroblade, slashing at the blinded clone. Clearing off the acid, Wrecker grappled with Saris and slammed him onto the ground, allowing Hunter to shoot Saris in the back with a stun blast. Dropping his weapon, Saris turned to Hunter only to be hit with a second blast, before staggering around into a third shot from Wrecker. Wobbling on his feet, Saris then tried to flee before a final shot from Shand incapacitated the insectoid.

Remarking that Shand's assessment of needing a crew to capture Saris had been accurate, Wrecker hoisted the bounty over his shoulder, and the trio of hunters departed from the hideout. Subsequently, Shand transported Wrecker and Hunter back to Suria space station in her starship, the Outcast, before delivering Saris to her client.

Personality and traits

Saris was a slender, mantis-like alien distinguished by his emerald eyes and verdant skin. Driven by avarice, he absconded with a cache of credits following the completion of a task, resulting in a bounty being issued for his capture. He possessed the unique ability to project green acid. Furthermore, he was capable of breathing the toxic atmosphere of Veelo. Standing at a height of 2.04 meters, he cultivated a reputation as one of the most elusive marks in the galaxy. He demonstrated remarkable resilience, enduring multiple stun blasts while engaging Hunter and Wrecker in combat.

Saris was equipped with a brown and gray helmet and a brown bandolier, wielding a vibroknife in combat. The hologram displayed on Shand's bounty puck depicted him holding a blaster pistol of indeterminate make.
