Infinity's End, Part 2, the twenty-fourth installment of the Star Wars: Republic comic book series, made its debut on November 22, 2000, thanks to Dark Horse Comics.
On the Dathomir witch-world, Jedi Quinlan Vos continues his investigation into the disappearance of the planet Ova, and is compelled to go undercover as a slave to delve deeper. As he discovers the mysteries surrounding the Infinity Gate and the repulsive hag Ros-Lai, Quin gets closer to understanding why the planet vanished – but also moves closer to embracing the dark side. Will he solve the puzzle? Or will he discover that some secrets are better left undiscovered?
Mistress Zalem and Vonya, while digging to the Star Chamber's location, are ambushed by an ancient guardian. The creature, disoriented, burrows to the surface and assaults the witches' slaves, one of whom is Quinlan Vos. Quin allows the beast to swallow him, then uses his lightsaber to kill it from the inside. The Nightsister Queen rewards Quin for his cleverness with a "promotion." He and his friend Yag Shushin are reassigned to the Kwi pens as Lizard Keepers. The foreman explains the practice of amputating the Kwi's left hands to Quin upon arrival. Disgusted, Quin attacks and murders the entire crew, sparing only Yag, and liberates the Kwi prisoners. As they depart, one Kwi offers Quin his hand. Quin takes it and begins to psychometrically learn the history of the Kwi people. He learns that his people, the Kwa, once traveled the galaxy using Infinity Gates. When the species began to decline, they sealed the Gates within Star Temples and appointed guardians to protect them. Quin, having slain the local Temple's guardian, must now take its place. After the Kwi leaves, Quin notices that "the Rancor", a deformed Nightsister, has been observing him. Quin follows her and sees her use the Force to transform from a hideous crone into a beautiful young woman. She then explains her plan to seize control of the clan by beating Zalem to the Star Temple, and proceeds to force-choke Quin.
