Star Wars #15 represents the fifteenth installment of the Legends comic book series titled Star Wars. The narrative was crafted by Archie Goodwin, with illustrations provided by Carmine Infantino and Terry Austin. Marvel Comics initially released it on June 27, 1978. The story presented is called "Star Duel!," and it showcases Han Solo in a confrontation with the space pirate known as Crimson Jack.
When the Millenium Falcon [sic] suffers a disabling event, Han will be forced to outmaneuver space pirates to ensure his survival!
Following the death of Governor Quarg and the deactivation of his jamming technology, Crimson Jack's battlecruiser becomes fully functional, lying in wait for Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon to depart from the surface of Drexel so that Jack can enact his vengeance. Jolli initiates a dogfight with the Falcon, which leads to both her Y-wing and the Falcon being rendered inoperable. Despite Solo appearing vulnerable due to the damage, he instigates a personal showdown with Jack by revealing that Chewbacca had erased Jack's navigational data while aboard his cruiser. Simultaneously, Jolli requests assistance due to the damage she sustained during the earlier conflict, but Jack disregards her plea, focusing instead on his desire for retribution against Solo. Enraged by Jack's reaction, Jolli opens fire on her former allies and crashes her ship into the battlecruiser, resulting in the deaths of both the crew and herself. Although Jack survives the explosion, he remains determined to eliminate Solo, but during their final confrontation, Solo ultimately kills the red-bearded pirate utilizing a blaster.
Within Star Wars #15, Luke Skywalker asserts that he lacks the ability to swim, while Leia Organa demonstrates swimming proficiency. Conversely, in the previously-released novel Splinter of the Mind's Eye (1978), the opposite is depicted.
