Star Wars: Galactic Conflict, known as 《星球大戰:銀河衝突》 in its original traditional Chinese form and 《星球大战:银河冲突》 when written in simplified Chinese, was intended to be a free-to-play MMORPG centered around the Clone Wars era. This mobile game, designed for Android devices, was under development by Yoozoo Games of China, while Gravity, a company based in Taiwan, planned to distribute it through Gamesword, their Hong Kong-based subsidiary.
Disney had reached an agreement with Yoozoo Games for the creation of Galactic Conflict with a target release date of 2018, but the project faced delays and was ultimately scrapped due to legal battles that arose during development in both Shanghai and Taipei. A Google Play page for the game appeared on April 26, 2020, showing a mere twenty downloads, but the game never saw an official launch.

The narrative unfolds during the initial days of the Clone Wars, starting in 22 BBY. It highlights the conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems over an ancient "Eye of the Star" technology, which allows for rapid interstellar travel across the galaxy, as viewed from the Republic's perspective. The game's locations include Jedha, Christophsis, Carnelion IV, Felucia, and Naboo. Key figures such as Count Dooku, General Grievous, Clone Commander Cody, and Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Yoda are all featured in the game.

Star Wars: Galactic Conflict was a planned free-to-play MMORPG game intended for mobile Android devices before its cancellation. Although the game was never available for download, its Google Play page provided a concise description of its gameplay and features.
Players would have been able to select from three character classes: Jedi, ARC, and Mercenary. Each class offered unique abilities that could be upgraded as players gained experience throughout the game. In addition to these unique abilities, players could choose from over 300 weapons, allowing them to develop diverse playstyles and strategies. Players could also pilot various vehicles from the Clone Wars era, including the ARC-170 and the vulture droid. The game would have taken players to different planets across the galaxy to battle the Separatist Droid Army, each planet featuring distinct biomes and ecologies.
Star Wars: Galactic Conflict also included online raid battles against well-known characters from the franchise, with thousands of players participating simultaneously. Winning these battles would reward players with valuable equipment. The game also featured a legion system, where players could join forces to capture planetary strongholds and construct bases for upgrading and defense, enhancing their team's reputation on online leaderboards. While the game was designed to be free to play, it offered microtransactions that allowed players to purchase virtual currency and items using real money.
The video game, known as 《星球大戰:銀河衝突》 in traditional Chinese on Google Play and translated to Star Wars: Galactic Conflict in English, was listed as an MMORPG playable on Android mobile devices. The Google Play page, which has since been removed, was created on April 26, 2020, and indicated that the game had been downloaded twenty times. Despite receiving an official ISBN (978-7-498-07991-6) in China on August 6, 2020, the game was never officially launched.
The Google Play game description had different language versions, each corresponding to a specific language code URL, including "zh-TW" for traditional Chinese, "zh" for simplified Chinese, and English, which contained numerous translation errors. Some language codes, such as "de" for German, "es" for Spanish, and "ru" for Russian, defaulted to the traditional Chinese version, while others, including "ar" for Arabic, "fr" for French, "it" for Italian, and "ko" for Korean, copied Star Wars-specific terms from the error-ridden English version, such as "General Griffiths" for General Grievous and "Nab star" for Naboo. The "ja" for Japanese and "he" for Hebrew versions were written entirely in their respective languages but phonetically replicated the errors from English, such as "グリフィス" and "גריפית'ס" from "Griffiths."
The promotional images featured the player as an original character named 雷克斯・比勒爾. Another character, a clone trooper in armor, was identified as a captain with the title "dark training commander." The game description stated that the game was rated for players aged twelve and older in the Republic of China, which governs Taiwan. The promotional materials on Google Play primarily used traditional Chinese, common in Taiwan and Hong Kong, but one image included both traditional and simplified Chinese, the latter being used in mainland China under the People's Republic of China.

The Walt Disney Company and Yoozoo Games initially planned to launch Star Wars: Galactic Conflict, known as 《星球大战:银河冲突》 in simplified Chinese, by December 31, 2018. Yoozoo, also known as "Youzu Games," is a video game developer based in Shanghai, China, and was headed by its billionaire founder, Lin Qi, until his death in December 2020. Pablo Hidalgo of the Lucasfilm Story Group mentioned having discussions about the game but was not directly involved in its development or lore.
The game's Google Play page was updated on April 27, 2020, and listed "GTarcade-old" as the developer. GTarcade is a gaming platform owned by Yoozoo Games. On April 26, 2020, Youzu Games in the United Kingdom replaced its director, who held significant shares in the company, and declared Youzu's Hong Kong company as the new entity with those shares. The Hong Kong address was listed as "Jinghua Road, North Point," which does not exist, although Ching Wah Street is nearby. The game received official approval from Communist China's NPPA state organ on August 6, 2020.
The Google Play page also identified Gamesword as the trader. Gamesword is a Hong Kong-based company established by the Taiwanese company Gravity in 2019, as part of their strategy to increase investment in video gaming and mainland China amid the China–United States trade war. Gravity entered into a licensing agreement for Star Wars: Galactic Conflict, known as 《星球大戰:銀河衝突》 in traditional Chinese, on April 23, 2020, with Gamesword partnering with ULT. Gamesword had previously granted ULT the rights to distribute the 2019 MMORPG Game of Thrones: Winter Is Coming in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau, which was also developed by Yoozoo Games. A 2016 game listed on the Apple App Store by the Hong Kong division of Youzu Games shows a Taiwanese telephone number and a Hong Kong address in Sheung Wan's San Toi Building, identical to the Gamesword address on the Star Wars game's Google Play page.
Between February and April 2021, several board members and stakeholders resigned from Gravity, and the company terminated its gaming agreements with Gamesword on April 26 of that year. According to Chinese media reports in October, 2022, Yoozoo had filed a lawsuit against Disney's China branch concerning the development of Galactic Conflict. In a Shanghai court, Yoozoo accused Disney of delaying the project after signing the license agreement for the Star Wars game in 2019, claiming that they had completed the game on schedule despite the challenges. Yoozoo further alleged that Disney attempted to terminate the contract, arguing that the developer had failed to deliver as promised, and unilaterally revoked the Star Wars game license.
The Shanghai court advised both parties to attempt to resolve the issue through "friendly negotiation" and, if unsuccessful, for Yoozoo to request arbitration from the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission. The court then dismissed Yoozoo's lawsuit. According to Taiwanese media in March, 2024, Gravity's investment in Yoozoo Games' products resulted in significant financial losses, compounded by the murder of Yoozoo executive Lin Qi and insider trading by Gravity's board members related to Yoozoo and Gamesword. Authorities in Taipei had been investigating the scandal. By October 23, 2024, the game had been removed from the Google Play Store.
Star Wars: Galactic Conflict was intended to be set during the early stages of the Clone Wars, placing the game around the year 22 BBY. However, promotional images for the game featured clone troopers wearing Phase II clone trooper armor, which was introduced later in the Clone Wars, around 20 BBY. Additionally, Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker were depicted with appearances and attire more aligned with their later war looks, rather than their earlier appearances during the conflict.
