Ssoh, a Trandoshan involved in slavery, carried a name that translated to "Stealth" in the Dosh language.
Once the captain of his own starship, Ssoh was a Trandoshan who engaged in slavery. His primary business involved trafficking Wookiees, whom he sold to Commander Pter Nyklas and the forces of the Galactic Empire. To maintain order among the Wookiee captives on his vessel, he strategically confined rival clans together, fostering infighting to deter escape attempts.
Chewbacca, the warrior, was sold into Ssoh's custody by Tvrrdko, a Wookiee harboring resentment towards Chewbacca for the death of his son, Tojjevvuk. While imprisoned on Ssoh's ship, Chewbacca provided his fellow Wookiees with tools, enabling them to break free from their restraints and cells. The liberated prisoners then battled Ssoh's Trandoshan crew to seize control of the vessel.
Chewbacca encountered Ssoh and violently tore all four of his limbs from their bodies.
Ssoh remarkably survived the brutal attack, eventually finding refuge on a remote planet. He frequented a local cantina, seeking solace in alcohol to alleviate the persistent and intense pain resulting from the devastating assault.
Ssoh gained free drinks by sharing his tale of survival after his encounter with Chewbacca, boasting of being the only Trandoshan to have ever survived a one-on-one fight with the Wookiee.
Ssoh's Trandoshan ability to regenerate his limbs proved advantageous, but after more than 20 years had passed since the initial loss, the regrown limbs remained noticeably weak and fragile. Ssoh described the pain experienced during their regeneration as being akin to "seven hells".
Following Chewbacca's death in 25 ABY, R2-D2 and C-3PO conducted an interview with Ssoh as part of a project dedicated to honoring the renowned Wookiee warrior.
