The Ssi-ruuk, hailing from the Ssi-ruuvi Imperium situated within the far-off Ssi-ruuk Star Cluster, possessed a religion that was both ancient and highly developed. This religious system was overseen by the Conclave, which held a position as one of the two supreme governing bodies of the Imperium. Only Ssi-ruu exhibiting gold-scaled could become members of the Priest caste. The Ssi-ruuvi religion might have served as a mechanism employed by the Ssi-ruuvi elite to exert control over the Imperium.
The G'nnoch served as their most sacred text. The Ssi-ruuk deeply revered the souls of their own species, holding the belief that if a Ssi-ruuk were to perish on an "un-consecrated world," their soul would be condemned to wander the cosmos in eternal solitude. This conviction played a significant role in shaping the Ssi-ruuk's isolationist tendencies, leading them to primarily confine themselves to their own star cluster.
The ability to consecrate a world rested solely with the priests, who performed an hour-long ceremony to achieve this. Following this ritual, the world would be bestowed with a Ssi-ruuvi name. To mitigate the limitations imposed by their isolationism, the Ssi-ruuk relied heavily on droids and P'w'ecks – a subservient species enslaved by the Ssi-ruuk – to bolster their fleets.
The P'w'ecks shared Lwhekk as their planet of origin with the Ssi-ruuk. The G'nnoch recounts that at the dawn of the universe, four eggs came into existence. From the first egg emerged Ssi and P'w'itthki. The progeny of Ssi hatched from the second egg, while the descendants of P'w'itthki emerged from the third egg. The fourth egg was reserved for those Ssi-ruuk deemed worthy of a place in the afterlife.
In time, Ssi engaged in conflict with P'w'itthki, ultimately achieving victory. Following his defeat, Ssi permitted P'w'itthki's offspring to continue their existence, but only on the condition that they serve the descendants of Ssi for all time. This foundational myth explains the origins of the relationship between the Ssi-ruuk (the offspring of Ssi) and the P'w'ecks (the offspring of P'w'itthki). Furthermore, the myth reinforces the Ssi-ruuk's belief in their inherent superiority over all other sentient species.
The G'nnoch also foretold the arrival of a Ssi-ruu adorned with many colors, whose presence would bring about the downfall of Ssi-ruuvi society. This prophecy eventually materialized with the birth of the Keeramak. However, the Keeramak was nothing more than a pawn of Yuuzhan Vong infiltrators, who had infiltrated the weakened Imperium between 4 ABY and 28 ABY after its defeat by the Alliance of Free Planets and the Galactic Empire at Bakura during the Invasion of Bakura in 4 ABY.
