Spurch Goa

Spurch Goa, also known as "Warhog," was a Diollan who pursued individuals for rewards as a bounty hunter, and previously, he made a living as a mercenary.

Biography

Before becoming an investigator for Imperial Navy Intelligence, Spurch Goa was employed as a mercenary. He was tasked with investigating Thaffe, a drill instructor accused of murder aboard a space station. Goa successfully solved the crime, proving Thaffe's innocence, which led to a strong bond between them. After this, Goa served in a security detail for a Grand Moff until Thaffe's retirement. Subsequently, both men volunteered to serve as Sector Rangers, where they gained recognition over a period of five years for their efforts in stopping slavers and pirates.

While working on a case, Goa and Thaffe encountered Dyyz Nataz, another Sector Ranger. Thaffe had previously trained Nataz in anti-terrorist tactics two years prior, and the three decided to collaborate on the case. Nataz had uncovered a credit counterfeiting scheme operating from an old ore freighter. While infiltrating the starship, they were ambushed by Ganks acting on the orders of Jabba Desilijic Tiure, who sought revenge for being targeted by investigators. Goa and his companions endured hours of torture without divulging any information. Eventually, the Ganks forced them to play sabacc to decide who would be the first to die. Thaffe deliberately lost, resulting in his immediate execution by the Ganks. Enraged by Thaffe's demise, Goa and Nataz managed to break free, eliminate the Ganks, and set the freighter on a collision course with a palace asteroid owned by Jabba.

As a result of these events, Goa and Nataz were discharged from their duties, and Jabba placed a bounty on their heads. The duo defended themselves against numerous attacks from bounty hunters, eventually repurposing their equipment and becoming bounty hunters themselves.

Goa was rescued from Gorm the Dissolver by a young Greedo, whom he then mentored. Greedo provided Spurch with information about a secret Rebel Alliance munitions depot located in the warehouse district of Nar Shaddaa. Spurch subsequently sold this intelligence to the Galactic Empire for 60,000 credits, paying Greedo 200 credits for the tip and splitting the remainder with his current partner, Dyyz Nataz.

Darth Vader utilized this information to besiege the Corellian Sector district where the Rebels were hiding. Shortly after this event, Spurch boarded his ship, the Nova Viper, and journeyed to the planet of Tatooine. He introduced Greedo to Jabba Desilijic Tiure and assisted in securing him an exclusive contract to track down the Corellian smuggler, Han Solo.

Sometime later, Spurch encountered two Rodian bounty hunters named Thuku and Neesh. They belonged to the Chattza Clan and worked for the warlord, Navik the Red. The Rodians sought to assassinate Greedo but preferred not to take direct responsibility for the act. Goa betrayed Greedo to Navik's thugs, orchestrating Greedo's fatal encounter with Han Solo.

Notes

In the Diollan language, Spurch translates to brave bug-catcher. Goa disliked the name and adopted the alias "Warhog" to project a more intimidating image to his fellow bounty hunters.
