The Sljees were a race of sentient beings, considered nonhumanoid, that originated from the planet known as Sljee.
Sporting a unique physique, they possessed squat, flat bodies, supported by numerous legs and tentacles, along with six jointed antennae that terminated in bulbous ends. These antennae, referred to as olfactory stalks, functioned as their main sensory apparatus. Their peculiar form caused some non-Sljee to misidentify them as unusual fauna, or even some kind of mobile flora.

Sljees were olfaxes, beings who relied on scent as their primary means of perceiving their environment and communicating. They even engineered specialized technology to facilitate communication through scents. Although their tactile and auditory senses were on par with those of Humans, they lacked the ability to see.
Upon venturing beyond their native world, they encountered challenges in adapting to galactic society. Aside from the obstacles presented by their nonhumanoid anatomy and blindness, they were frequently overwhelmed by the unfamiliar and intense olfactory landscapes of alien planets. Until they grew accustomed to these novel scents, they often struggled to discern between different beings, or even distinguish between entire species. An unfortunate Sljee, employed as a server on Bonadan, once confused Spray, a Tynnan, for the "offspring" of the Wookiee Chewbacca. However, with dedicated practice, Sljees could learn to differentiate species and individuals, identifying them by their scent from distances of up to one hundred meters.
One Sljee named Jeseej, who worked as a restaurateur, forger, and diviner on Coruscant, successfully carved out a comfortable existence among non-Sljee. The majority of Sljees residing outside their homeworld tended to live in groups, either due to difficulties in integrating with other species or because of their inherent communal tendencies.
Gorm the Dissolver, a bounty hunter who was a cyborg with organic parts, was constructed with Sljee leg components.
