The skura was a species of creature native to an isolated planet that served as the home of the Sith known as the Stranger. These creatures utilized their elongated snouts to search for food along the rocky coast of an island found on this world. Their distinctive slate gray skin and blocky heads provided effective camouflage when predators threatened. During the year 132 BBY, Verosha Aniseya, a former Jedi, encountered a skura family on this planet after being brought there by the Stranger.

Skura were creatures that foraged for food along the stony shores of an island on a remote planet. They possessed round bodies with a small tail at the back, supported by two short legs ending in diamond-shaped feet. Their most notable feature was their blocky heads, each side adorned with a protruding black eye, and a long, pink snout reminiscent of an anteater, which they employed to locate sustenance during their foraging activities.
The slate gray coloration of their skin, combined with the unique shape of their heads, allowed these creatures to effectively blend into the rocky terrain of their habitat. They would sometimes freeze in place when sensing danger, relying on camouflage, but they were also known to emit squealing and chittering sounds while fleeing from certain threats. Adult skura reached a height of 0.15 meters, while their young were approximately the size of a duckling.
In the year 132 BBY, a juvenile skura ventured into a cave located on the planet inhabited by the Sith known as the Stranger. It began to chitter and rummage through a bag lying on the cave's floor until Verosha Aniseya, the former [Jedi](/article/jedi] who had been captured and brought to the cave by the Stranger, awoke nearby and approached it. The young skura then scrambled out of the bag and squealed as it darted out of the cave, fleeing from Aniseya. Later, as Aniseya emerged from the cave and walked towards the shore of the island where the cave was situated, she encountered a family of foraging skura, consisting of two parents and their offspring. The trio froze as she passed by, turning their heads to watch her as she reached the edge of the water.

Later that day, the skura family, consisting of three members, stood camouflaged atop a pile of rocks, gazing out towards the sea as the parents gently nuzzled each other. The family was later observed foraging near the beach, with the child riding on the back of one of the parents, when Aniseya and the Stranger traversed the shoreline to reach the Sith's starship, named the Exile II. The juvenile skura glanced up at the pair as they walked by in the distance.
The skura made their debut in "Teach / Corrupt," the sixth installment of the live-action television series The Acolyte, which was broadcast on July 2, 2024 via the Disney+ streaming service. The episode's script described these creatures as a hybrid of anteater and duck. While the skura were not explicitly named within the episode itself, they were officially identified in both a Databank entry and the Episode Guide featured on StarWars.com the following day.
