The Second Skirmish of Taul was a three-sided conflict that occurred on the planet Taul the day after the Battle of Taul.
On the day before, the Imperial Victory-class Star Destroyer, known as the Dominator, arrived at the swampy world of Taul. Its mission was to investigate the vanishing of a probe droid. Upon arrival, it discovered a small Rebel base. This discovery led to a battle that resulted in the destruction of the Rebel base. However, a number of transport vessels managed to escape the planet's surface. The Dominator gave chase, but before departing, it deployed three squads to the surface with orders to recover any Rebel documents and kill any remaining survivors.
While searching the surface, the Imperial squads—Kraeth squad, Lesan squad, and Dangerst squad—stumbled upon an unidentified object. They observed several groups of beings converging on its location. Among these groups were three Rebel squads—Rancor squad, Womp Rats squad, and Santhar squad—who had been dispatched to secure the object. Additionally, smugglers passing through the system had been alerted to the object's presence and were also moving to acquire it. These smuggler squads, Red Wing and Pounders, were under the command of the bounty hunter Ragan Ten.
A fierce three-way battle erupted as each faction vied to obtain the unknown object.
