The SST-67 Short Range Transit Shuttle, also known as the "Naboo Shuttle," represented one of many intra-system shuttle designs in the SST line manufactured by Republic Sienar Systems.
Specifically engineered for civilian operators, the SST-67 model was intentionally built without armaments, defensive shields, or substantial armor plating. Accessibility was a key feature, with systems designed for straightforward maintenance both internally and externally. The control mechanisms and sensor technology were repurposed from an unsuccessful freighter project and were simple to operate. The onboard computers and communications systems were designed for easy enhancement, allowing for complete automation.
Measuring 23.2 meters in length, the shuttle was operated by a single pilot, who occupied a compact cockpit. A boarding ramp provided access to the passenger compartment, which featured bench seating for up to eighteen individuals. Flanking the ramp were a storage compartment and a weapons locker, providing a total cargo capacity of one metric ton along with provisions for two days of operation. Being designed for travel within a single star system, the vessel was not equipped with a hyperdrive.
Sienar secured contracts with the Naboo government, as well as other governments of sparsely populated planets, to supply these budget-friendly yet effective spacecraft. A brand new SST-67 shuttle had a price tag of 82,000 credits, while a pre-owned model could be acquired for only 20,000 credits.
Naboo shuttles frequently provided transportation between Naboo and Ohma-D'un. One example was the Fair Gale, a shuttle piloted by the Ithorian Captain Worlohp.
